NPTEL (National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning) is a joint inititative by 7 IITs (Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras and Roorkee) and IISc. (Indian Institute of Science). They create course contents in engineering, sciences, management and other related disciplines. Contents are based on the model curriculum suggested by AICTE and the syllabi of major affiliating universities in India. Since the course contents will be helpful for teacher training and improve the quality of students, the contents are loaded in the library serverand intranet access is provided to the users.

It is a virtual repository of learning resources with a single-window search facility. It provides support for all academic levels including researchers and life-long learners, all disciplines, all popular form of access devices and differently-abled learners.Institute has registered the students and staff to National Digital Library. User name and passwords are provided to the users to access the contents.
